Pistol 88 - pistol

Pistol

Pistol 88 is the Swedish designation of the Glock 17. It is the standard pistol used in many Swedish forces. It is a very modern pistol, made mostly of plastic materials, and very light. It is in the standard 9mm calibre, and the magazine holds 17 rounds. It is, like all Glock weapons, extremely reliable do to it's simple design. It has no external safety. Instead, the safety is built in the trigger. When the weapon is loaded the firing spring is only half cocked. When the trigger is pushed back the spring will cock fully to be able to fire. Drop tests have been made up to 120m without shots going off. It is used in guard duty at the barracks, and is usually never used in the field.
